StackBoss gathers data from your Azure tenants in near real-time, analysis this data, and calculates the optimal size of your virtual machines. The results of these calculations are available as recommendations for you to apply to your environment

Getting Started

Connect Your Azure Tenant using Service Principal credentials here: https://app.stackboss.com/resources. Your cloud resources begin being enumerated and analyzed in minutes.

Recommendation vs Automation

Tenants, Subscriptions, Resource Groups, and individual Resources can be set to “recommendation mode” or “automation mode”.

Resources are in “recommendation mode” by default, wherein StackBoss calculates the optimum sizing for your virtual machines according to one of several customer-set calculation methods (see below) and makes these recommendations available in your Recommendation Journal.

Resources can be set to “automation mode” where StackBoss will change the size of your virtual machines automatically during a customer-set daily maintenance window.

Sizing Caculation Methods

95th Percentile: the most conservative and default sizing method.

Mean + 1 standard Deviation: a moderate approach to sizing.

Mean: the most aggressive sizing approach, but will minimize virtual machine costs.
